Creating a Prisma Diagram

A PRISMA flow chart or diagram depicts the flow of information through the different phases of a systematic review. It maps out the number of records identified, included and excluded, and the reasons for exclusions.

After you have imported references, you can view your PRISMA diagram any time from your Review Summary page by clicking on the PRISMA button.

  • During the screening and full-text review stages, each reference is assumed to correspond to a single study.  During data extraction, references can be merged if they the same trial or study.
  • During screening, exclusion criteria are NOT reported for references voted "no."  During full-text review, the primary exclusion criterion IS reported for references voted "no."

To export your PRISMA flow chart

To export the data to include in a PRISMA diagram that you either manually create or enter into a PRISMA diagram generator
