Covidence

Covidence is an online tool that can help you as you conduct a systematic review.  Covidence was designed with systematic reviews in mind, but those conducting scoping, integrative or other comprehensive reviews may find it useful.

Use Covidence to:

• streamline the screening process
• increase the ease of collaborating with your review team
• extract and store your data
• reduce the amount of time spent working on your review

This guide contains information on using Covidence to conduct systematic reviews.  Below is an overview of the guide (main sidebar tabs) in the context of the PIECES model of conducting a systematic review.

• Getting Started with Covidence: Sign up to use Covidence with Baylor's unlimited site license.
• Setting Up a Review: Set up your review including choosing your review type and adding reviewers.

• Importing Article Citations:  Import and de-duplicate the citations you've found from databases and other sources. 

• Screening Articles on Title and Abstracts:  Screen the citations using your include and exclude criteria based on title and abstract. 
• Importing Article Full Texts:  Import full text of articles in order to screen them and collect data from them.
• Full Text Review:  Screen the citations using your include and exclude criteria based on full text. 

• Extracting Data:  Extract data from articles using a template that you set up.

• Exporting Data:  Export your data to use in analytical programs such as Excel

• Creating a Prisma Diagram:  Create a Prisma Diagram to describe how you determined which studies to use in your review.
