Gift Policy: Donations of Physical Materials

While Baylor University Libraries appreciate community interest in supporting our physical collections, we have a very limited gift program for donated materials. Only items that have significant potential for scholarly research or that meaningfully support our academic programs will be considered.  All potential donations must be evaluated by the library BEFORE delivery.

Additionally, any items that are accepted will be handled at the direction of the Baylor University Libraries.  When the University Libraries accepts a gift, it becomes the property of Baylor University, which reserves the right to determine whether the materials will be retained, where the materials will be located, and how the materials may be accessed.

Although the library acknowledges the receipt of any gifts, it cannot provide assessments of their monetary value.

For materials that fall outside of our gift qualifications, a good option is donating to your public library.

If you feel that you may have materials that are of a rare and scholarly nature, please complete the following survey to begin the review process: Baylor University Libraries Gift Donation Survey

If you would like us to consider a donation to one of our special collections, please refer to the contact information that is available in this guide under the tab for that specific collection.
