This tag will appear on the spine of every every commentary or other book designated Non-Circulating General:
Items so tagged are available solely for in-house library use. They cannot be checked out of the library.
To better meet the needs of our users, Baylor University Libraries have recently upgraded collection policies for our high demand critical commentary series.
The library is working to bring all critical commentary sets together and ensure that one copy of every set required for student exegetical assessment is permanently available on Moody 3rd floor for in-house use during normal business hours.
New tag/New status
To make this possible, a new status and tag is being created: General Non-Circulating.
a. Materials classified in this category will be held in the Moody General collection (3rd floor) and will be available solely for in-house perusal during normal operating hours.
b. General Non-Circulating items will still have the "Moody General” location code in OneSearch, but they will not circulate.
c. All items so designated will be given a highly visible tag (a bright label that reads "Library Use Only").
d. One copy of all commentary series listed in this guide will (eventually) be reclassified as General Non-Circulating
e. A second, circulating copy of each series will made available for researchers requiring borrowing access to these commentaries
Note: These changes will affect the location of some resources currently held in the Jones Reference collection: the Anchor Bible and Word Biblical Commentary series will eventually both shift upstairs to Moody (3rd floor) General.
