Alteryx: Creating a report

Begin building your report: Table

Creating a report in Alteryx involves several steps using the reporting tools available in Alteryx Designer. 

Step 1:Prepare Your Data:

  1. Ensure your data is clean and ready for reporting.
  2. Use tools like the Select Tool to choose the fields you want to include.

 

Step 2: Connect the Table Tool to your work flow

With the Table Tool, users have options to design their table. With our table, we want to highlight worldwide box office amounts that surpass 1 billion dollars.

Select the column to be highlighted, then click on Column Rules - Create. This brings up a box where users can tell Alteryx when the rule will be applied and what will happen. Font size, font color, and background color are some of the changes that can be made. We want to highlight movies that have earned over 1 Billion dollars worldwide.

To do that, we will name our rule (Marvel movies earnings) then select when the rule is applied (When - Worldwide Box Office > 1000000000). Since we want to text to appear in a different color, Text Color and Red are selected. Click Close to save changes, then click Run to run your workflow.  The results of Report Tools can not be viewed in the results pane.  Add a Browse Tool from the In/Out section and click Run to run the workflow again.  Click on the Browse Tool to view the results.
