Alteryx: Creating a report

Learn how to create attractive, professional reports using your data in Alteryx.

Layout

The Layout Tool is used to arrange 2 or more reporting snippets to output as a report.  This is where the table and chart, along with their text, can be arranged for our report.  Locate the Layout Tool and drag it onto the work space, then connect it to the Report Footer Tool.  Click on the Layout Tool to open the Configuration Pane.

Under the Layout Configuration, select Horizontal for the Orientation. This will position the table and chart side by side. If vertical had been selected, the table and chart would appear one on top of the other.  Since we want to make the most of our space, horizontal is selected. Next, set the layout width and height. For width, select Fixed from the menu, then enter 11 for inches. Do the same for height - select Fixed from the menu, then type in 5.5 for inches.  Check the box for Separator and enter 20 for pixels.  Change the color to White.  Finally, under Column Configuration, uncheck Header and Footer. Highlight Table, then for Alignment (V) chose Top and for Alignment (H) chose Left.  Repeat this for the Chart Alignment (V) is Top and Alignment (H) is Left.  Attach a Browse Tool and click Run to see the results.

Now there are 3 fields as the Table and Chart are considered one field now.
