Receive support, space, and funding to bring your ideas to life!

 

We’re thrilled to invite all Baylor University community members to apply for the Creative Project Grant—a unique opportunity to design and build an innovative or creative project using our spaces and resources.

Projects can be curricular or extracurricular, individual or collaborative, and should aim to create a positive impact—whether for the community or yourself. Examples include a creative thesis, research project, prototyping an invention, or addressing a community challenge.

The library offers a wealth of resources to support your project, including audio-visual tools, immersive media, text-mining technologies, mapping/GIS software, CAD modeling, and hands-on making equipment. Our staff is available for consultations to help shape your project idea before applying. Visit the Garden Level of Moody Library or schedule an appointment to get started!

Potential Award Benefits:

  • Access to the Innovation Garage at the BRIC
  • Expert guidance and support from Makerspace and Innovation Garage staff
  • Up to $500 to cover materials or specialized tools

What is the Innovation Garage?

The Innovation Garage at the BRIC is a dedicated space designed for ambitious creators. Whether you're an individual or part of a team, this facility empowers you to bring large-scale, long-term projects to life—offering possibilities beyond what’s typically feasible in the Moody Makerspace.

Developed in partnership with the Office of Innovation and Economic Development, the Innovation Garage provides the tools, resources, and flexibility you need to turn your creative vision into reality. Access to the space is by application, ensuring every project is supported with intention and purpose.

Step 1: Apply for the Creative Project Grant to request access to the Innovation Garage.
Step 2: Schedule a time to reserve the Innovation Garage to work on your project.
Step 3: Complete and turn in the Innovation Garage Facility Use Agreement form.
Step 4: Complete Orientation and any tool-specific modules in the Creative Making Pathways Canvas course.
Step 5: Use the tools and resources of the Innovation Garage to turn your concepts into creations!
