Baylor Libraries Book Arts & Letterpress Lab

The Philosophy and Pedagogies Behind the Book Arts & Letterpress Lab

The following podcast and video were created through generative AI (Google's NotebookLM) based on two conference presentations by Sha Towers at the Association for Book Art Education National Conference in Madison, Wisconsin in June of 2025. They encapsulate and present (in a much more relatable way than conference presentations!) the philosophy and pedagogies of learning that our lab espouses. In this way, the experiential learning happening in the lab, in both curricular and extracurricular settings, serves as a metaphor for powerful ways of learning such as embodied cognition, haptic learning, and the pedagogy of slow learning.
