Discovering Armstrong Browning Library Resources

Some helpful hints for searching the ABL's databases of materials

Limiting Baylor Libraries "Online Catalog" to ABL Resources

When looking for the Armstrong Browning Library's published holdings, you should use the "Advanced Search" option of Baylor Libraries Online Catalog.

You will need to begin by limiting your search to the ABL's resources. Select "Library Catalog." Then once the "Search Profile" drop down menu appears, select "Armstrong Browning Library." From there, search as you normally would.

Hints for Quickly Identifying Historical Resources

Since you are probably interested in historical resources you may wish to use the date limiters which are part of the search categories at the top of the page. Or after entering your search terms and selecting "Search," scroll down to "Refine your results" and change "Sort by"  from "Relevance" to "Date-oldest."

If you are interested in literary criticism or historical monographs (and we have extensive collections of both) you may prefer to leave your results sorted by relevance.

Requesting Resources from the "Online Catalog"

If you are interested in consulting resources that you found in Baylor Libraries Online Catalog, please contact the ABL (email abl_office@Baylor.edu) with Author, Title,  Publisher, Year, and "Available at ..." information. Examples are provided below:
