Awards grants and contracts to help accomplish its mission to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability.
By awarding grants, Texas Health and Human Services makes it possible for program areas and contracted client service providers to pursue new projects, carry out program services, and supports that are aligned with the agency’s mission and goals.
The Nursing Innovation Grant Program (NIGP) is an initiative to help address the state's nursing shortage. NIGP was established by the 76th Texas Legislature in 1999 and codified in Texas Education Code Section 63.202 (f) and (g) to help relieve the state's nursing shortage. It is funded with proceeds from the Texas Tobacco Lawsuit Settlement.
TSNRP is the only program funding and supporting rigorous scientific research in the field of military nursing. They seek to advance military nursing science and optimize the health of military members and their families. Please note that these proposals usually require the investigator to have served in the military.
