Spirituality Research Guide: Home

This guide is designed to acquaint students and researchers of Christian Spirituality with the resources available at Baylor University Libraries for the scholarly study of spirituality and spiritual formation.

The study of Christian Spirituality is a rich and fruitful field of ecumenical scholarship. Every faith tradition takes an interest in spiritual formation and possesses its own spiritual heritage and traditions of spiritual practice.

The "Confessional Traditions" page showcases some of the unique resources many of the major traditions contribute.

For those new to the study of spirituality and those needing inspiration for their research, the "Reference Works" and "Subject Headings" pages may provide helpful starting points. Most of the reference resources are subject specific works that will help familiarize researchers with important persons, concepts and history. And the subject headings enable researchers to scan BU Libraries' holdings topically to see what's available locally.

The "Finding Articles" and "Finding Books" pages are the logical first options for compiling a research bibliography. And depending on one's needs and level of study, books and journal articles may be sufficient. However, those requiring "no stone unturned" comprehensiveness will wish to consult the "Bibliography," "Dissertations and Theses" and "Biographical/Literary Critical Tools" pages as well.
