The Arts and Special Collections Research Center offers a significant number of resources - FOR YOU!
In addition to these print resources, the libraries host thousands of e-books and e-journals; and over 800 databases.
Below are a few core resources to help you as you begin your studies here at Baylor.
The Arts and Special Collections Research Center spaces are located on the 3rd floor of Moody Memorial Library.
Arts Center Reading Room
There are many study spaces around Moody and Jones Libraries. You are welcome to study in the Arts Reading Room on Moody 3rd floor. Occasionally there will be classes working in this space; however, when not in use it is a great space to study and research.
Classrooms
There are two classrooms on Moody 3rd floor--Seminar Room #1 and Moody Room 304--which are used for class meetings. Both rooms have full audio/video and projection capability, seminar-style seating, and dry erase boards. Seminar Room #1 also has a piano.
Wireless Access
Baylor's wireless network, AirBear, is available throughout the public spaces in the Libraries. Log in with your Bear ID and password. Authorized visitors can use the BU-GUEST network.
Computers & Printing
Computers are available for use by current Baylor students, faculty members, or staff members. They are equipped with Internet access, Microsoft Office, and other software. All printing in the libraries is charged to your PawPrints allotment.
On the Garden Level of the Moody Library building, additional desktop computers are available and laptop computers can be checked out from HelpDesk+.
Photocopier/Scanner
A KIC scanner is located in the elevator lobby. It scans books, scores, or other documents face up, then saves a .pdf file on your flash drive. A larger KIC scanner that can scan oversize items is located in the Garden Level Study Commons area. Other copiers and scanners are located throughout Moody and Jones Libraries on each floor. There is no charge to scan items, only for photocopies.
Listening/Viewing Equipment
The Arts Center is equipped with playback equipment for all media formats in our circulating collections, including CD, DVD, Blu-ray, audio cassette, LP record, and VHS videotape. Headphones are also provided.
The Arts and Special Collections Research Center is home to a 12-station music lab located just steps from our service desk. You may use it anytime during regular library hours, except when reserved for a class or seminar. As with all public computers on campus, your Bear ID and password are required to logon. Each station is equipped with a high-performance, 27" iMac computer and a MIDI keyboard controller. The Crouch Music Lab offers a wide range of software applications beyond the essentials like Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
