The definition of a primary source varies from discipline to discipline. When in doubt ask your professor what he or she will accept as a primary source.
Primary
sources are those materials published at the time of the event.
Primary
sources can be published or unpublished. They can be in various formats: print, electronic, microform, etc. Examples: correspondence, diaries, speeches,
newspaper articles, business records, governmental documents, songs, art,
fiction, photographs, archival papers, etc.
Consult the Primary Source libguide for more suggestions.
