The Codex Aureus is manuscript of the Mathew, Mark, Luke and John and is written in gold ink. It was created in approximately 1035.
The Oxford Bestiary was created in approximately 1210 and contains depictions of animals, plants, and humans. Many of the stories use animals to teach moral lessons, much like fables.
