Take a couple of minutes to watch this video and see how BrowZine can work to put scholarly journals in your hands easily and when you have time to read them.

What can I use BrowZine for?

Use BrowZine to:

  • Browse scholarly journals available through the Baylor Libraries by subject categories.
  • Search for specific journal titles by title or ISBN.
  • View complete issues of journals including tables of contents.
  • Create a personal library with your favorite journals for easy access on your BrowZine interface.
  • Be alerted when a new issue of a journal is published.
  • Save articles on your phone to read later even when you're offline.
  • Read/download full articles.
  • Access in-press articles, when available.
  • Download BrowZine articles to Box.com, Mendeley, Zotero, and other citation managers to help keep all of your information together in one place.

You can use BrowZine from your phone, tablet, or via the web on your laptop or desktop computer!

Benefits of using BrowZine:

  • Keeps you current on the research that is being published in your discipline without having to carry around paper journals or look for individual publications online. It's great for faculty, researchers, and student researchers!
  • Gets you an overview of current research available in the journal format including articles you may miss with a focused online search.
  • Gives you the ability to use read scholarly journals from a mobile device.

When should I use something besides BrowZine?

  • If you want to conduct in-depth research you should use other resources. BrowZine does not allow you to search within or across journals.
  • When an online scholarly journal is not available through BrowZine. BrowZine has agreements with many different publishers but not all that provide journals available online through Baylor Libraries.
  • If you want to do light reading. BrowZine only includes scholarly journals (not popular magazines, newspapers, etc.).
  • When a journal is not available in an online format.

Accessing BrowZine & Creating an Account

When you get to the Baylor Libraries website, select the "journals" tab above the search box in the center of the screen. To browse, select "browse selected scholarly/academic journals by subject" or type in a journal title. If you are on campus, it should automatically log you in using your Bear ID and password. If you are off campus and on a laptop or desktop, you may be required to log in manually using your Bear ID and password. However, BrowZine mobile on iOS and Android is able to request the institutional username and password and store this via encryption within BrowZine and auto log you in each time you attempt to use it while you're off campus.

Once you are logged in, you can also create a personal account with BrowZine. Doing so allows you to save your favorite journal articles into "My Articles" collections for reading at a later time. All of the articles in "My Articles" will sync between all your devices. Creating an account also allows you to track your favorite journals on "My Bookshelf."

Creating an account once you're in BrowZine is easy!

  1. Click "My Bookshelf" OR "My Articles" at the top left of the screen once you are in BrowZine.
  2. Click "Sign Up."

Once you've created an account you will see your email address in the upper right corner and you'll have the ability to create collections and bookshelves (through "My Account" and "My Bookshelves.").

Using a Mobile Device

You can access BrowZine through your phone and/or tablet (iOS or Android) easily by:

  1. Download the BrowZine app by going to the app store on your device and search for "BrowZine."
  2. Install the app to your device.
  3. Open the app and search for "Baylor University" from the "Choose a Library" search box.
  4. Accept the terms.
  5. Log in with your Bear ID and password.
  6. That's it!
