Useful tips

Wildcards used in IEEE Xplore:  ? and *

Truncation: IEEE automatically looks up keyword plural forms, verb forms, and British/American spellings. Do ‘Exact Word’ or phrase searches to override this.

Refine results using the options shown in the column on the left side of the screen including by date and by subject heading.

Sort results using the drop-down menu at the top of the results list to change the order they are displayed including alphabetical order by publication title, newest or oldest first, or most cited.

Advanced Search: template used to guide query building
Command Search: AKA Power-user search, free-form searching using field tags and Boolean operators to build search string.
Citation Search: template based on the bibliographic data fields commonly found in cited references lists
