OneSearch is a discovery tool that provides a single place to search most of the content available from the Baylor University Libraries, including:
Use the database Variety Insight to discover basic information about the film you have chosen to research. You can learn when the film was released, and who the major producers or production designers were on the film. You can use those names, as well as the name of the film to search in the other databases that are listed. Searching Film & Television Literature Index for trade publications and limiting your search to before the film was released, you may discover information about the preproduction process that was reported on in the major film trade publications, such as Variety or Hollywood Reporter. Using other databases, like OneSearch, Academic Search Complete, or even searching using Google, combine terms like preproduction, production, and interview with the director and producers' names to find other sources that may shed light on the process of creating the film. You can also search other aspects of preproduction, such as storyboards, locations, casting, costumes, props, special or visual effects, and finances.
