Nursing LRC Tools for Success: Tips for Nursing Students by Degree

Nursing Students Guide for the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing Learning Resource Center

General Tips for First Semester Nursing Students at BULHSON from other Nursing Students

Get to know upper-level nursing students!
They know the system, know how to study, know which classes to sign up for, and they can point you to resources that teachers might not mention in class.

For help researching your research topics:
Make an appointment with the medical librarian early in the semester. Come with your research topic already picked out, and she will show you how to use tools such as CINAHL, PubMed, and RefWorks so that you get the most out of them. This will save you time and improve the quality of your research - and you'll get to know the NLRC and all of the other ways it can help you!

To Request an Appointment for Search/Research Assistance:
            Send an e-mail to nursinglrc@baylor.edu
            Include the following information:

  • Your name and level in the e-mail subject line
  • Which class the request is for (i.e. Foundations, Research, etc.)
  • Dates & times you are available to meet
  • Your topic

         (Please Note: the librarian is available 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday)

For the Foundations J1 research paper, you might find it helpful to look at one or more of these links found in the Additional Links tab.
