Below is a quick guide to citing primary and secondary sources using the Chicago Manual of Style. Ultimately, your best guide to Chicago-style citations is the Chicago Manual of Style itself. If you don’t own a copy, you can use the Library's online version. This guide will give you a few common forms that will help with citations for many of the main sources that you will find for your research projects.

Okay, now to provide some examples of citations for sources that you might come upon in your research. I’ll use some of the materials we’ve used in our class to demonstrate the basic forms of citations. But, again, use the Chicago Manual of Style as your ultimate guide on how to cite something.
