Sentiment analysis is a computational method used to assess and discern the emotional tone or subjective sentiment conveyed within a body of text. The Library's Data & Digital Scholarship team pulled the text of The Wind from HathiTrust and used spaCy to split the book into sentences and TextBlob to calculate sentiment score for each sentence.
How this tool works:
Filter by sentiment= range is -1 to 1
-.5 to -1 is most negative
-.5 to .5 is neutral
.5 to 1.0 is most positive
