Research project prospectus timeline

February 14-17, 2023:

  • February 14 - Review of Research Guidelines and this plan in class after ID Quiz 1 (11:30-12:00).
  • Out of class:
    • Familiarize yourself with the Museum tab of the Research Guidelines put together for us by Arts Librarian Sha Towers.
    • Click through all the websites listed for Renaissance exhibitions in the past ten years.
    • Select 2 or 3 exhibitions that interest you and do further research beginning to think about 3-5 objects that you would include in your prospectus.
    • Order the catalog via Osofast for the 2 or 3 exhibitions. THIS MAY TAKE 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS!!
    • If the EXHIBITIONS don’t have catalogs, find books or articles on the same topic and incorporate info from the website. (Include dates ordered in your Prospectus)
    • Find reviews of the exhibitions. (Include in your Prospectus)
    • Email Sha for an appointment via zoom or in-person.

February 21, 2023

  • Sha Towers visits in class to take questions
  • If you do nothing until Sha comes, you will not be able to submit an informed and appropriate Prospectus on February 28.

February 21-27, 2023

  • Meet with Sha Towers to review your research plan.
  • Think about what you might argue in your paper (NOT yet a thesis statement)
  • Compose a list of questions about the objects and the artist that might contribute to your argument
  • Develop a bibliography (10-12 print sources + online websites)

February 28, 2023:

  • Submit Prospectus
